The
Process
If you have any questions,
please email me at info@artworkbycaroline.com.
|
| The portraits I draw
are always done from the photos you send me. Send me as
many as you can as it is helpful when choosing the best
photo for the portrait, however, I only work from the
one photo chosen. Let me know if you have a favorite photo
and I'll let you know if it's suitable to work from. |
 |
|
After I receive your
deposit, I'll provide you with an email address for
uploading your high resolution photos. If you'd like
me to evaluate your photo before you order your portrait,
just email me at info@artworkbycaroline.com
and I'll send you the upload information.
You can also mail them to me as prints or on a CD. I'll
return the prints to you along with the finished portrait.
After
we've decided on the photo, I begin by drawing a rough
pencil sketch on low quality drawing paper. It's at
this stage that I make sure all the proportions are
correct and that I've created an exact likeness of your
beloved companion.
Once
I'm satisfied with the sketch, I transfer it to my illustration
board and begin the colored pencil portrait. When the
portrait is complete, I ship it to you along with any
photos or cds you have supplied.
I
require a 50% nonrefundable deposit when I accept your
commission and before starting the drawing. Turnaround
time depends on how many commissions I have and I generally
have a waiting list of 2 to 4 weeks. Please let me know
if you need the drawing for a special occasion and I'll
try to accommodate you if possible.
|
|
When
I have completed the portrait I'll send you a digital
copy via email. Upon acceptance I require the balance
due after which I will ship the drawing to you.

Drawing
Drawing
is a visual art which makes use of any number of drawing instruments
to mark a two-dimensional medium. Common instruments include
graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils,
crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, or various
metals like silverpoint. An artist who practices or works
in drawing may be referred to as a draftsman or draughtsman.
A
small amount of material is released onto the two dimensional
medium which leaves a visible mark -- the process is similar
to that of painting. The most common support for drawing is
paper, although other materials such as cardboard, plastic,
leather, canvas and illustration board may be used. Temporary
drawings may be made on a blackboard or whiteboard, or indeed
almost anything. The medium has also become popular as a means
of public expression via graffiti art, because of the easy
availability of permanent markers.
